I've reset my SMC, PRAM, updated the OS, etc. I'll be the first to admit I have been a bit hard on my Mac, and it has taken a couple of falls, but nothing seemed too messed up until this started happening about a month ago. It's gotten to the point where it's become a daily occurence, sometimes even happening several times in one day! It will shut down with no warning, and then when I boot it back up, it will have all my windows/tabs/etc. After that starts it usually only takes maybe 30 seconds to shut down, but sometimes I have to manually shut it down.ĩ times out of 10 though, there is zero warning. *Sometimes* right before it shuts down, my Mac will make a loud buzzing/clicking noise, cutting out all sound/volume control. I'll be doing anything, whether it's browsing the internet, watching a movie, or even just listening to music and my Macbook will shut down without warning.Īctually, scratch that. What is causing the problem in my laptop? And yesterday When I clicked on the power icon on top right and saw check the battery allert there. The only thing I haven’t tried yet is to reinstall the MacOS. I also tried to check if there is an issue in hardware by making a hardware test. I researched the forums and found out that the issue may be kernel panic. At first I was convinced that this was the issue of overheating but I have now experienced that this is happening randomly. ![]() I tried plugging in overnight and resetting SMC NVRAM. I am really dissatisfied with this issue and tried to find many solutions. I am having unexpected crashes for over 2 months with my Macbook 12 inch early 2015 model. I don't want to think it's a hardware issue. I have spoken to apple support on this matter several times, but they just kept saying the same thing. What could be the cause of this issue? I've been having this problem ever since I had gotten my keyboard replaced via the free replacement eligibility program sometime last year. (Shut down immediately.) I booted it back up shortly after, and it was working as if it never happened. Then I noticed my laptop wanting to shut down on it's own, and then my fans started to run loud again. The third time, which just happened now, was when I was just calmly browsing my twitter, when my icons on my top bar started to close on their own. (I didn't even have that many apps open, only about 2-3.) ![]() The second time this happened, I heard my fans start to run fast again, and I immediately pressed the power button to turn it off so that it doesn't overheat. I shut it down, let it cool down, and then I turned it back on, and reset my PRAM and SMC. The first time this happened, was when I was sleeping, and I woke up to the fan on my laptop running super high, and the screen was blank. ![]() I have had this happen about three times.
